About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Refuse Operative to join our team at Hitchcocks Business Park, Willand. As a key member of our waste and recycling depot, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient collection and processing of waste and recycling materials from households and trade premises across Mid Devon.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and process waste and recycling materials from households and trade premises, working as part of a crew or lone working.
  • Ensure all Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices are adhered to, and be aware of all procedures relating to the safe operation of the waste service.
  • Deliver waste and recycling containers to residents across the district.
  • Help prepare the vehicle for unloading and remove all recycling materials on return to the depot.
  • Work in the depot when required, operating baling equipment and other depot duties as requested.
