Job Title: Teaching Assistant to work with a class and pupils with ASD

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team in supporting a class of pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in creating a safe and inclusive learning environment that fosters the academic, social, and emotional growth of our students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in delivering lessons and activities tailored to the needs of pupils with ASD
  • Assist with the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) to ensure pupils receive the necessary support
  • Provide one-to-one support to pupils with ASD, promoting their independence and confidence
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and other support staff to ensure a cohesive and effective support system
  • Contribute to the creation of a positive and respectful classroom environment

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with pupils with ASD or similar special needs
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced educational environment
  • Commitment to providing high-quality support to pupils with ASD
