About the Role:

At Asda Opticians, we prioritize the health and wellbeing of our clients, ensuring that we consistently deliver exceptional patient care and service.

Your daily responsibilities will include conducting eye assessments, managing contact lens fittings, and performing extended service evaluations. You will collaborate closely with our Dispensing Optician Manager to assist in training, coaching, and upholding departmental standards.

In light of our extended service agreements with the NHS, we are dedicated to providing a comprehensive range of care for the diagnosis and management of eye conditions. We will support you in obtaining any additional qualifications necessary to deliver these services.

Our robust CPD program, along with allocated time for further qualifications funded by Asda, ensures you receive a comprehensive training package to adapt to the evolving eye care needs of our clients. Our focus is on nurturing and supporting you to achieve your full potential.

With support from in-store, regional, and home office teams, you will receive assistance in all aspects of your role. Whether your inquiry is clinical or service-related, expert advice and support are always available.

About You:

We are in search of a dedicated Optometrist to join our vibrant team, committed to excellence in healthcare. We seek a skilled individual who is enthusiastic about contributing to our store's high service standards and building positive relationships within our team and the broader community.

At Asda, we emphasize service and creating memorable experiences for our clients, allowing you to utilize your clinical skills and passion for your role to help achieve this.

Your Qualifications:

  • A fully qualified optometrist registered with the GOC
  • A registered performer with your NHS area team or health board
  • MECs or WECs accredited (or willing to gain accreditation within 12 months of joining Asda – supported and funded by us)
  • On track to meet the statutory points requirement for CPD
  • Able to leverage your skills and enthusiasm for the role to deliver a memorable customer experience
  • Passionate about developing new patient services and influencing the culture of the department

When applying for any of our Optical roles, you must be registered with the General Optical Council (GOC) for the relevant professional role type you have applied for. Additionally, you will need to provide evidence of your Right To Work in the UK.

As part of the compliance process, we will request evidence of your inclusion on the NHS performer list for the nation you wish to work in, along with two clinical references.
