About the School

Oakham Shires School is an independent special school for 11-18 year olds who are Autistic and have associated diagnoses and special education needs.

The school delivers a primary curriculum to secondary-aged pupils who have struggled to cope in a mainstream or larger SEN educational setting.

Pupils are taught in small class groups of 4-5 with a high staff-to-pupil ratio, and are supported to achieve their outcomes within their EHCP, develop life skills, and achieve accreditations in Maths, English, and Science.

Why Join Us?

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils and young people, and all applicants will be subject to social media checks and a fully enhanced DBS.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including a pension scheme, life assurance, and access to a wide range of health and wellbeing services.

We are a setting that has a strong safeguarding culture, where pupils are listened to, respected, and involved in as many decisions as possible.
