Key Responsibilities:
  • Production of geotechnical designs at tender stage to client requirements
  • Advising and working closely with structural engineers to achieve economical foundation solutions based on site-specific ground conditions
  • Assessing site conditions, including ground and gas contaminants, and potential for heave
  • Preparation of calculations, written reports, and checking of drawings
  • Advising on site investigation briefs to meet design requirements
  • Assisting with appointing and carrying out site investigations relevant to proposals
  • Visits to site as required
  • Supporting senior engineers
Person Specification:
  • Prefer 18 months of geotech design experience, but will consider a raw graduate with a passion for geotechnics
  • Degree or greater in geotechnics or a related field
  • Happy to work in a fast-paced environment of subcontracting
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Strong numerical modeling skills
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills
  • Passion for customer service
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Team player
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with an ability to prioritize
  • Strong IT skills, especially in Excel
  • Confident communicator
  • Dynamic
  • Self-motivated with a desire for continual learning and improvement
