About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our primary school team in Hadleigh. As a key member of our staff, you will provide essential support to students with special educational needs, helping them to thrive academically and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support to students with special educational needs, ensuring they are fully engaged in learning activities.
  • Assist in implementing individualized learning programs tailored to each student's needs.
  • Work closely with teachers to create a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment.
  • Encourage students to participate in both academic and extracurricular activities, fostering personal and academic growth.
  • Support students' social and emotional development by offering guidance and positive reinforcement.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and promote positive interactions among students.
  • Monitor and report on student progress to teachers and other staff members.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
  • Confidence and passion for working with students with SEMH needs.
  • A passion for supporting students with special educational needs in a primary school setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude toward helping students succeed.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, following the guidance of teachers and other support staff.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the varied needs of students.
