About the Role

The Royal Air Force is seeking a skilled Logistics Mover to join our team. As a Logistics Mover, you will be responsible for the movement of troops and cargo according to operational needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate IT systems to manage cargo and passenger movements
  • Load and unload transport aircraft
  • Accompany cargo on global operations
  • Plan aircraft loads using logistical IT systems
  • Drive and operate specialist aircraft handling equipment
Requirements
  • Be aged 17 – 47 years old (Must attest before 48th birthday)
  • Be a citizen of the United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland, holder of dual UK/other nationality or have been a Commonwealth citizen since birth (with 'right to work' immigration status)
  • Have a provisional UK DVLA driving licence with no penalty points or driving bans
  • Commit to a minimum 3 years after specialist training
  • Pass the Defence Aptitude Assessment
  • Pass a fitness test

Training and Development

As a Logistics Mover, you will receive basic and specialist training in your field. You will also have the opportunity to work at the top of your field, both in the UK and overseas.

Career Progression

After completing one year's total service, you will be eligible for promotion to Air Specialist (class 1), providing you pass Trade Ability Tests and Basic Trade Training. Further promotion to the rank of Corporal and beyond is on merit by competitive selection and is subject to you completing your Further Movements Training and positive annual assessments.
