Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Metastatic Colorectal Cancer CNS Team at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients diagnosed with metastatic colorectal cancer.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Practice at a senior nursing level to provide in-depth knowledge on the care pathway and complex needs of patients diagnosed with metastatic colorectal cancer.
  • Work clinically with patients and carers from the time of referral to provide specialist nursing advice and practical and psychosocial support, including holistic assessments and personalized care plans.
  • Provide ongoing support for junior members of the team, including undertaking annual appraisals and performance reviews.
  • Actively engage with the weekly Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) as a patient advocate and support decision-making.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with a degree qualification in a relevant field.
  • Post-registration qualification in colorectal, oncology, or palliative care.
  • Advanced communication skills training.
  • At least three years of experience in managing self and working unsupervised or with minimal supervision.
  • Expertise in nurse-led practice and knowledge of current management of patients with metastatic colorectal cancer.
