Job Duties
General Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities

- Assist in training nursing and support staff as directed by senior staff.
- Promote the mental, physical, and emotional well-being of children with disabilities, coordinating with parents and the multidisciplinary team.
- Conduct health assessments to identify individual health needs and implement care programs.
- Work with families and specialists to develop and implement care plans for children with complex health needs.
- Follow safeguarding procedures to protect children and participate in relevant meetings.
- Identify and report risks associated with care delivery.
- Contribute to health promotion initiatives within the school.
- Support senior colleagues in planning educational experiences for students and mentor student nurses.
- Utilize research and evidence-based practices to inform clinical decisions.
- Engage in clinical audits and evaluate personal practice.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- NMC Registered Nurse (adult, child, or learning disability).
- Diploma or degree in nursing.
- Experience working with children with special needs.
- Experience in multidisciplinary teamwork.
- Experience managing complex health needs in children.
Desirable
- Experience in a specialized educational or community setting.
- Experience with children with severe disabilities and complex health conditions.
