Product Line Manager

Edmund Optics, a leading manufacturer and supplier of optics, imaging, and photonics technology, is seeking a Product Line Manager - Strategic Optics to join its dynamic team in York, UK. As a key member of the Strategic Optics team, you will be responsible for developing and executing a product strategy that aligns with the company's technological vision and core competencies.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in optics, product management, and leadership, with a proven track record of driving business growth and improving customer acquisition and retention efforts. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, marketing, R&D, sales, applications engineering, and design engineering, to develop objectives, presentations, and financial proposals for new product initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and execute a product strategy that aligns with Edmund Optics' technological vision and core competencies.
- Manage the development and expansion of existing standard product families, including gathering market and application information from customers.
- Select new products and custom capabilities, and define an end-of-life strategy for underperforming products.
- Align with the Strategic Optics team to determine the future of the market.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop objectives, presentations, and financial proposals for new product initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field, with two years of experience in application engineering, manufacturing engineering, product line engineering, and/or managing products in the optics field. Strong optics product, manufacturing, and technology knowledge, as well as high-level personal initiative, strong analytical skills, and excellent written and oral communication skills, are essential.
