Position Overview
We invite applications for the role of Consultant in Critical Care Medicine and Anaesthesia. The ideal candidates will possess comprehensive training in both fields. This position entails responsibilities for out-of-hours critical care duties as well as weekend emergency anaesthesia services.
Our institution is a prominent teaching hospital and serves as a Major Trauma Centre. We have a robust Department of Anaesthesia that provides perioperative care to a significant number of elective and emergency patients. Our services encompass all major sub-specialties, including but not limited to cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, vascular surgery, and renal transplant care. The General Critical Care unit is equipped with 30 beds and handles over 1600 admissions annually from various medical and surgical specialties, alongside a dedicated Cardiothoracic Critical Care unit.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
Enhance and expand anaesthesia, pain management, and critical care services in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a seamless and high-quality patient experience. This includes maintaining effective and efficient service delivery while upholding risk management and clinical governance standards. Engage actively in the education and training of junior medical staff and allied health professionals in the domains of anaesthesia and critical care. Participate in the broader activities of the consultant team, including teaching, clinical governance, and administrative duties, tailored to individual interests and skills. Foster and implement innovative enhancements within the department and the organization to elevate the quality of patient care.About Our Trust
