About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Trunk Driver to join our team at THE DELIVERY GROUP LIMITED. As a key member of our transport team, you will be responsible for transporting and delivering Company and Customer products in a safe and efficient manner.

Main Responsibilities
  • Transportation and delivery of Company and Customer products, with no loading or unloading required.
  • Working to a specified plan, complete all yard activities to plan and ensure trunking is completed on time to meet all deadlines.
  • Complying with local legislative requirements and Company policies and procedures.
  • Representing the Company in a professional manner and working as a team with other Transport Drivers.
  • Ensuring all vehicle Pre-Operational checks are completed to a high standard before driving.
  • Continuously exhibiting courteous and polite communication with all THE DELIVERY GROUP LIMITED employees and customers.
  • Ensuring all paperwork is completed clearly and submitted to the transport department at the end of each shift.
  • Reporting all defects immediately and ensuring loads are secured effectively and within weight limits.
  • Complying with appropriate working time legislation.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable previous experience as a Class 1 C&E Driver, with a sound knowledge of Road Transport Legislation.
  • Ability to understand Company Health and Safety procedures delivered in English.
  • Diligent with a keen eye for detail, ensuring everyone complies with Company Health and Safety policy at all times.
  • Calm temperament and ability to react calmly when things are not going according to plan.
  • Passionate, driven, and motivated to complete all tasks in allotted timescales to the highest quality.
  • Good interpersonal skills, relevant regulated driving experience, and full knowledge and compliance of Road Transport Legislation.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, and HGV driving experience.
