Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic SEN Class Teacher to join our team at a SEN school in Newcastle. The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching and a commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and informative lessons to small classes of pupils with a wide range of SEN and challenging behavior.
- Work with Primary and Secondary aged pupils with a wide range of SEN and challenging behavior.
- Build positive relationships with pupils and Teaching Assistants to create excellent learning environments.
- Manage challenging behavior in a positive, proactive and consistent manner.
- Differentiate lessons appropriately to suit the needs and learning styles of all pupils.
- Use varied methods of assessment to assess pupil progress.
- Display high levels of enthusiasm, energy and positivity when working with children.
- Work effectively with Teaching Assistants to ensure children receive the best possible educational experience.
Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service)
- QTS
- Experience of utilising a range of methods to assess pupil progress
- Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum
- Strong relationship-building skills with an ability to build rapport
- A positive and resilient attitude towards teaching and work
- Experience of teaching within the UK
- A genuine passion for teaching
- Strong organisation and communication skills
- A commitment to CPD
