About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Estimator to join our team at 3D Personnel. As a Senior Estimator, you will play a key role in the success of our civil engineering projects, working closely with project managers, engineers, and designers to deliver accurate and detailed cost estimates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Review: Conduct thorough reviews of project drawings, contracts, and specifications to understand scope, materials, and requirements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project teams to gather essential project information and establish project budgets.
- Cost Estimation: Calculate and prepare detailed cost estimates for labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractors, utilizing cost databases, historical data, and industry benchmarks for accuracy.
- Value Engineering: Identify potential cost-saving measures and value engineering opportunities to optimize project outcomes.
- Bid Preparation: Prepare comprehensive bid packages, including cost breakdowns, schedules, and proposal documents for clients and subcontractors.
- Industry Knowledge: Stay current with industry standards and regulations affecting civil engineering projects.
Requirements:
- Experience: Several years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on cost estimation and project management.
- Skills: Strong understanding of heavy civils, tunnelling, and trenchless works, with experience in producing winning bids for projects ranging from £500k to £20m.
- Education: Degree educated, with a strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry practices.
- Software Proficiency: Proficient in using construction estimating software and spreadsheet applications, including Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Certification: Professional certification (such as Certified Professional Estimator) is beneficial.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
- Auto-Cad Experience: Familiarity with Auto-Cad software.
- Degree Educated: Working towards Chartership.
- Site Experience: Experience in tunnelling or civil engineering.
