Job Title: SEND Caseworker - Communication and Interaction Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated SEND Caseworker to join our team at Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council. As a key member of our Education, Inclusion and Achievement Service, you will play a vital role in supporting schools and settings to meet the individual needs of children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

About the Role

The successful candidate will work closely with our C&I Specialist Teacher, providing advice and guidance to schools, settings, and parents, as well as direct work with children and young people. You will be responsible for determining underlying C&I needs, developing plans, and providing individually tailored support, including one-to-one and small group interventions. Your work will be peripatetic, often travelling to several school settings each day, and attending virtual meetings from home or at a Stockton base.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist advice and guidance to schools, settings, and parents on C&I needs and support.
  • Work closely with the C&I Specialist Teacher to develop and implement plans to meet the individual needs of children and young people.
  • Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions to support children and young people with C&I needs.
  • Manage a caseload of children and young people with C&I needs, in accordance with service policies.
  • Work collaboratively with other caseworkers and specialist teachers to support schools and settings to meet the individual needs of children and young people.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Experience working with children and young people with SEN.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work flexibly and positively with a range of stakeholders.Knowledge of C&I needs and support strategies.What We Offer
