Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Commissioning and Development Engineer to join our team at Premier Technical Recruitment. As a Commissioning and Development Engineer, you will be responsible for the commissioning and development of special purpose automated machinery and systems within strict project timescales and budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commission and develop special purpose automated machinery and systems
  • Organize and achieve successful customer sign off testing to specification and timescale (FAT & SAT)
  • Perform fault finding of control and safety systems at Head Office and customer sites
  • Modify and develop software, PLC & HMI coding for automation projects as required
  • Ensure automation solutions are delivered to appropriate H&S requirements, complying with the machinery directives and national and internal standards
  • Update associated electrical design documentation where necessary
  • Develop machine processes to achieve relevant performance requirements
  • Perform programming on various robotic systems, including 6-axis, SCARA & Delta robots
  • Undertake on-site support and servicing of mechanical and electrical systems, as well as modifications and enhancements to existing systems
  • Provide end user training on delivered systems and liaise with customers and suppliers throughout project lifecycles

Requirements:

  • Multi-skilled maintenance or service professional with excellent hands-on skills
  • Solid understanding of mechanical systems and machine control systems, ideally gained within an Automation systems or Machinery environment
  • PLC coding/troubleshooting experience with one or more of the following equipment: Omron, B&R, Siemens, Mitsubishi or similar
  • Experience of programming and integrating 6-axis, Scara or Delta robots into Automation systems
  • Appropriate Electrical qualifications combined with understanding of electrical systems, including commissioning and fault finding
  • Understanding of Pneumatic circuits, with experience of interfacing to Injection Moulding Machines
  • Full UK driving licence
