As an Information Security Specialist, you will be instrumental in defending our systems from cyber threats. You will apply your advanced technical expertise to manage and improve our information security protocols, ensuring adherence to industry best practices across all platforms. This position encompasses a mix of technical oversight, incident management, risk assessment, and collaboration with various departments to boost our cyber resilience.
Key Responsibilities
In your role as an Information Security Specialist, you will undertake a variety of tasks vital to the security of our digital infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include:
- Administering and optimizing the Trust's security toolset, including antivirus software, vulnerability assessment tools, and threat detection services.
- Ensuring that all security measures are configured in accordance with best practices and comply with relevant guidelines.
- Conducting ongoing surveillance of the Trust's IT systems to identify, analyze, and respond to security incidents.
- Managing the incident response framework, documenting actions taken, and reporting findings to mitigate operational impacts.
- Evaluating and managing security risks associated with IT operations, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
- Maintaining the Trust's risk register and regularly assessing the effectiveness of security measures.
- Preparing detailed reports on the state of the Trust's information security, highlighting vulnerabilities and incidents for senior management review.
- Facilitating cybersecurity training sessions for IT staff and end-users to promote awareness and best practices.
