Job Summary

Jewson, a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe, is seeking a Part-time Warehouse Operative to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of our warehouse and yard operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service, welcoming customers to the branch and taking an active interest in their projects.

  • Develop a thorough knowledge of our product lines to offer advice and assistance to customers, aligning with our Jewson Values.

  • Assist in preparing customer orders, loading and unloading customer and supplier vehicles using a Forklift Truck to minimize manual handling (training will be provided).

  • Inspect incoming deliveries and report any missing or damaged products.

  • Maintain accurate stock levels in both the shop and yard areas, conducting regular stock counts.

  • Ensure the branch remains clean and tidy, making a great first impression on our customers.

  • Prioritize Health & Safety, demonstrating how you can maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.

Requirements

  • Previous industry experience is preferred but not essential.

  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize work accordingly.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Confidence in working both indoors and outdoors.

  • A health and safety focus.

  • Comfortable with extensive manual handling of bulky items.
