Role Overview

Rapid7 is seeking talented students to join our Enterprise teams in Belfast for their placement year. As a company, we have made significant investments in our Belfast office to attract top talent as we continue to accelerate our growth. Our placement program has been a key factor in our success, and in this role, you will gain invaluable experience in managing and building successful systems for efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and document system architectures, including business processes, technology, and data components.
  • Collaborate with senior architects and IT teams to understand system requirements, identifying opportunities for optimization and improvement.
  • Develop system integration strategies, ensuring that various components function cohesively.
  • Support the evaluation of existing IT systems to recommend changes or improvements for scalability, performance, and security.
  • Participate in creating technical documentation, diagrams, and flowcharts outlining the system architecture.
  • Conduct research on emerging technologies and trends in system design to inform decision-making.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between business requirements and technical solutions.
  • Assist in developing system performance benchmarks, conducting tests, and analyzing results to ensure optimal functionality.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled at one of our partner universities and in your 2nd year studying Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline with a strong academic record.
  • Currently residing in Northern Ireland and have the Right to Work within the UK.
  • Familiar with business architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and business modeling techniques (e.g., BPMN).
  • Familiar with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) and business process management, and/or with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems or customer relationship management (CRM) tools.
  • Familiar with digital transformation, customer experience (CX) strategies, and data analytics with an interest in business strategy, process optimization, and organizational design.
  • Excellent problem solvers.
  • Able to display strong communication skills both within the team and cross-functionally.
  • A collaborative team player who can partner with others and drive toward solutions.
