Job Title: LGV Shunter

At Stobart, we are seeking a skilled and experienced LGV Shunter to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely movement of trailers, on and off loading bays, and delivering shunt loads from one location to another, as instructed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Place trailers in the required areas as per instructions
  • Utilize two-way radios to maintain communication with areas of the operation as necessary
  • Perform all safety checks, as designated by the company
  • Report defects, accident damage, and any incidents as soon as they are found
  • Ensure fridges are set at the correct temperature, in line with loaded product temperature requirements
  • Ensure fridge diesel tanks have adequate fuel at all times
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when communicating with colleagues
  • Report any breaches in speed limits by drivers and sub-contractors to the transport department
  • Ensure vehicle parking area layouts are maintained and report any issues of debris to the site services team
  • Maintain company standards of hygiene and housekeeping in your areas of work at all times
  • Work in line with Health & Safety legislation
Requirements:
  • Desirable: Working with and driving LGVs
  • Previous shunting experience
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment
  • Teamworking
  • Written and verbal communication
  • Driving for excellence
  • Ability to work to challenging deadlines in a pressurized environment
  • Self-disciplined and motivated
