Role Responsibilities

As the Fashion Editor, you will leverage your extensive knowledge of the fashion industry and your expertise in writing and editing features. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Generating daily content ideas focused on the fashion retail sector and contributing to the monthly print publication with diverse topics relevant to the industry.
  • Editing features for both print and digital platforms, ensuring they are aligned with the latest industry developments.
  • Engaging with industry leaders to source insightful comments and perspectives.
  • Overseeing the breadth of coverage in the fashion features section, determining key subjects and their depth of exploration.
  • Managing the production of all fashion-related content, including features, interviews, brand profiles, and trend analyses.
  • Directing the creative vision for seasonal special editions and editorial photoshoots, including concept management, budgeting, and execution.
  • Coordinating comprehensive coverage of catwalk events and trend analyses.
  • Developing strategies for seasonal trade shows and ensuring thorough coverage.
  • Collaborating closely with the art and production teams to present all content to the highest standards, while innovating design and layout ideas across both print and digital formats.
  • Contributing to the weekly newsletter by writing timely updates on fashion retail news.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • An NCTJ qualification or equivalent journalism training or experience.
  • Proven experience in managing editorial photoshoots from inception to completion, including art direction.
  • Strong background in writing and editing long-form features, with experience interviewing senior industry figures.
