As a Family Play Therapy Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering person-centred, age-appropriate, strengths-based support to children and young people affected by domestic abuse.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Manage a caseload of children and young people through their journey within a domestic abuse service
* Offer support, advocacy, and information to all children and young people
* Produce individual support plans for each child and young person
* Undertake a therapeutic assessment of the needs of the child/young person
* Plan and provide direct and indirect play therapy opportunities
* Encourage co-production with children and young people
* Build good working relationships with parents and develop effective partnership working

**Requirements:**

* A recognised professional qualification in psychotherapy or counselling at a minimum of Dip/PGDip level or above
* Educated to degree level and registered with an appropriate professional organisation relevant to therapy modality
* Demonstrable experience of providing outcomes-focused therapy to children, young people, and their families
* A good understanding of theories of child development and attachment
* An in-depth understanding of the impact of domestic abuse on children and young people
