About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Consultant/Director to join our Corporate Finance Practice in FTI Consulting. As a key member of our tax team, you will provide tax input into transaction advisory, structuring, and due diligence projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in supporting senior team members on tax aspects of projects, day-to-day liaison on the transaction process, identifying potential exposures and opportunities, and drafting due diligence and structuring reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support senior team members on tax aspects of projects, including structuring and due diligence exercises
  • Liaise with other members of the tax team and Transaction Services and Restructuring teams as required
  • Delegating work to and managing junior members of the tax team
  • Assist senior team with other advisory projects as required
  • Keep up-to-date on technical matters and deal with detailed technical queries raised, coordinating the preparation of practical, robustly supported advice
  • Assist senior team with thought leadership
What You'll Need to Succeed
  • Relevant post-qualified experience of tax with a focus on transactions from either an in-house or practice role
  • Experience with UK tax, primarily corporation tax, and an understanding of employment tax, management incentives, VAT, and stamp taxes
  • Broad tax technical knowledge, including knowledge of current developments in legislation, case law, and related accounting matters
  • Understanding of accounting matters in a transaction context, including current and deferred tax accounting
  • Experience of various transactions involving tax diligence (buy-side and sell-side) for example acquisitions and disposals, public to private transactions, refinancing, corporate carve-outs
  • Ability to communicate (verbal and written) in a straightforward and practical way to tax and non-tax specialists
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills and an eye for detail
  • Outgoing and personable, able to integrate with a team and interact with colleagues of all grades
  • Ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload to deliver work when required
  • Demonstrable skills at building and maintaining relationships with clients and colleagues within and outside tax teams
