Senior PPA Originator

The PPA division is a high-achieving group that has established itself as the foremost PPA offtaker in the UK, continuously exploring innovative approaches. This team is dedicated to procuring renewable energy and related certificates from a diverse array of low carbon assets throughout the UK, utilizing three distinct pathways:
1. **Traditional PPA** - a standard offtake arrangement primarily targeting operational assets within a three-year timeframe.
2. **Large Developer PPA** – customized product offerings aimed at long-term offtake from new large-scale generation initiatives.
3. **Corporate PPAs** – providing physical, virtual, and private wire energy supply solutions to corporate clients.
Compensation, Benefits, and Culture
In addition to a competitive salary ranging from £70,000 to £80,000 based on experience and a leading pension scheme, we provide a variety of flexible benefits designed to support our employees in all facets of their lives.

Responsibilities
In this position, you will primarily engage with the latter two categories, large bespoke PPAs and Corporate PPAs, by identifying opportunities, structuring agreements, securing internal support, and leading commercial negotiations with clients. Collaborating with various departments within EDF, you will leverage our collective expertise to deliver optimal solutions to our clients. You will assist the PPA Origination & Structuring Senior Manager in shaping the strategic direction of the business and maximizing long-term value creation while managing acceptable risk levels.
Working closely with the Product Development and Marketing teams, you will ensure that the PPA business is equipped with the appropriate products, communications, and events. By reviewing the existing portfolio with a focus on continuous enhancement, you will create value and optimize returns while maintaining a strong market presence through engagement with key stakeholders in the UK renewables sector.
Qualifications
We seek an individual with substantial experience in achieving results against ambitious objectives through the cultivation and maintenance of effective relationships.
You should possess a comprehensive understanding of the GB electricity market, low carbon instruments (CfD, ROC, REGO), and demonstrate strong numerical skills, with the ability to analyze trends and assess risks. Direct experience with Corporate PPAs will be a distinct advantage.
Exceptional commercial insight is essential, along with the capability to identify growth opportunities and nurture relationships using a variety of techniques.
