As a Financial Controller, you will work closely with the Director of Finance, overseeing all aspects of employee and benefits costs, VAT and duty accounting, and credit card transactions. Your contributions will be vital in enhancing processes and systems.
Key Responsibilities
As a Financial Controller, you will play a crucial role in one of the UK's most renowned luxury brands. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading a team of six to ensure accurate and efficient management of Cash & Banking, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, and Stock Control across multiple locations.
- Collaborating with the payroll bureau to guarantee timely and precise employee payments and payroll tax submissions, while also preparing year-end returns and reports.
- Preparing and submitting compliant VAT and duty returns, ensuring timely payments.
- Reviewing and reconciling balance sheet and profit and loss accounts, preparing variance analyses and commentaries, and managing period-end and year-end closures in financial software.
- Serving as the primary contact for external auditors and tax advisors, preparing financial statement notes and disclosures, and assisting in the preparation and filing of corporation tax returns.
- Managing ONS, FCA, and similar returns, leading process and system enhancements for improved controls and operations, and undertaking additional duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA preferred (finalists with a strong exam and career record are welcome).
- A minimum of 5 years of industry experience.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while balancing various priorities and demands.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
