Work Package Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Work Package Manager to join our team at Thales Optronics & Missile Electronics (OME) in Glasgow. As a key member of our industrial team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the end-to-end delivery of our products and services, ensuring schedule adherence and quality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage industrial activities to achieve schedule adherence within cost parameters.
- Develop and implement a strategic vision for manufacturing activities, ensuring integration with the Glasgow site, OME UK, and ICC wider industrial strategy.
- Enhance competitiveness through continual improvement of functional processes.
- Ensure quality control and adherence to company procedures (Chorus).
- Lead, develop, and motivate an effective work team built on mutual trust and open communication.
- Coordinate support from other functional areas as required.
- Achieve optimum levels of work-in-progress through effective shop floor daily scheduling and management.
- Establish and maintain excellent housekeeping (5S) in line with best practice lean methodologies.
- Accountable for all HSE activities within the APRU, including risk assessments, PPE control, and staff training and health surveillance.
- Provide first-line response to human resourcing and people matters, preparing and implementing personal development and training plans for team members.
- Accountable for the integrity of information fed into manufacturing management systems.
- Lead the introduction and management of change, and the development of a continuous improvement culture.
We are looking for a forward-thinking and organized individual with people management experience in an industrial or delivery organization. You will have proven experience in continuous improvement, problem-solving, and change management in an industrial environment. You will possess experience in operations management and control, as well as demonstrable experience in leading and implementing lean/continuous improvement techniques. You will have excellent communication skills, able to engage effectively with stakeholders and teams.
