About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to join our IT Service Management team at bet365. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting our campus network infrastructure, ensuring operational efficiency, reliability, and compliance.
Main Responsibilities
- Collaborate with architects and technical leads to design and implement robust and scalable network solutions, leveraging expertise in Cisco SD-Access and Cisco wireless technologies.
- Act as a subject matter expert on SASE technologies, including Palo Alto Prisma Access and Netskope NewEdge, to ensure seamless integration and deployment.
- Work closely with delivery teams to ensure smooth transitions of campus networks into operational support, developing and enforcing network policies and procedures.
- Perform regular upgrades, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements to maintain optimal performance and connectivity for end users and individual campus networks.
- Collaborate with IT Services teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements, providing training on network troubleshooting.
- Diagnose and resolve complex network issues, providing Level 3 support and guidance to IT Services teams.
- Work with security teams to deploy and integrate SASE solutions, enhancing the overall security posture of client networks.
Requirements
- Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting network devices at a low level, including switches, routers, firewalls, and access points.
- Knowledge of network protocols such as Ethernet, TCP, and IP, VLANs, and routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP.
- Experience and understanding of the delivery of IT Service design, implementation, and management.
- Experience of working with third-party suppliers of products and services, in conjunction with in-house teams to provide integrated and seamless delivery of technical solutions.
- Familiarity with network troubleshooting tools to diagnose and resolve network issues.
- Knowledge of network security principles, including access control lists, firewall policies, and VPN configurations.
- Experience in working with low-level network protocols and technologies, such as DHCP, DNS, NAT, and IP addressing.
- Ability to perform basic network device configurations, including firmware upgrades, port configurations, and VLAN assignments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to quickly identify and resolve network issues.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members, provide technical support to end users, and explain technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
