Employment Advisor

We are seeking a proactive Employment Advisor to assist individuals facing mental health challenges and other barriers to employment, as well as support those on sick leave in their return to work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a caseload of clients presenting multiple barriers, including mental health issues, disabilities, substance misuse, criminal histories, and skills gaps.
  • Conduct comprehensive initial assessments for each client to identify their specific challenges, past experiences, skills, and training needs.
  • Collaborate with clients to establish SMART goals, meeting regularly to track progress, address new challenges, and ensure readiness for employment.
  • Engage with local employers to uncover new job opportunities and promote these positions to clients.
  • Provide up to six months of in-work support to clients who secure employment to ensure their successful integration into the workplace.

Required Skills:

  • Extensive experience as an Employment Advisor/Job Coach, demonstrating a successful track record in helping unemployed individuals secure work.
  • Proficiency in creating SMART Action Plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Expertise in managing complex cases through person-centred interventions, facilitating movement closer to the labour market.
  • Proven ability in employee engagement and support.
