Role Overview:
The Financial Reporting Manager position is ideally suited for someone with a background in Practice who has developed robust technical accounting capabilities and is now seeking their next career move into industry. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will be an integral member of the senior finance team, gaining invaluable experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and submission of monthly and annual financial reporting data to the group.
  • Management of the monthly consolidation process, including intercompany reconciliations. Preparation of annual statutory accounts and collaboration with the Financial Controller and external auditors to facilitate the audit process.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory tax reporting obligations, ensuring accuracy in submissions and timely payments. This includes corporation tax, VAT (oversight and submission), payroll taxes, plastic packaging tax, and duties.
  • Engage with external tax advisors to prepare annual Corporation tax computations, reviewing and approving these before submission to tax authorities.
  • Collaborate with external consultants to oversee the site R&D Expenditure Claims process.
  • Compile all other statutory reporting requirements, such as payment practices, EPR, and National Statistics.
  • Maintain a current understanding of financial and accounting regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Oversee treasury management, including banking systems, cash flow forecasting, cash deposits, and foreign currency exposure.
  • Continuously evaluate existing processes and systems, recommending enhancements.
  • Contribute to various financial projects as needed within the finance function.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proficient in PC applications with intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (including Pivot Tables, Power Query, and XLOOKUP), Microsoft Word, and ERP systems.
  • Strong technical understanding of UK tax and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Experience in reporting under UK GAAP (FRS102).
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Outstanding communication skills, capable of presenting information clearly and concisely.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a dynamic team.
  • Experience in managing deadlines with the ability to prioritize effectively.
