The Role:

The Energy Storage Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for:

  1. Commissioning Fluence Energy projects in collaboration with various stakeholders, including construction managers, contractors, suppliers, telecommunications teams, and control systems teams.
  2. Developing and executing commissioning plans, including resource allocation and scheduling.
  3. Leading the commissioning effort to achieve commercial operations and handover from the delivery/construction team to the O&M team for each project.
  4. Defining, developing, and executing testing protocols based on market rules, local utility requirements, off-taker contracts, and third-party supply agreements.
  5. Overseeing the complete commissioning and acceptance testing of the following systems:
    1. Project networks, communications, and control systems;
    2. Balance of plant relay protection, metering, HVAC, fire suppression, and electrical systems;
  6. Performing electricity market and/or off-taker qualification testing as required for the project to commence commercial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Developing and executing commissioning plans, including resource allocation and scheduling.

Requirements:

  1. Undergraduate degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent professional qualification (at least EQF level 6) with at least four years of professional work experience in a related field, such as construction, commissioning, project management, performance testing, and troubleshooting.
  2. Working knowledge of PLC (Siemens S7 & Allen Bradley ControlLogix PLC), soft logic IEC 61131, SEL Relays & Meters, Siemens Relays & Meters & SCADA Gateways & Data Concentrators.
  3. Proven success on challenging projects where you made key contributions while demonstrating ownership, creativity, and initiative.
  4. Demonstrated ability and interest in engineering design.
  5. Passion for your work, and communication skills that motivate colleagues, clients, suppliers, and contractors.
  6. Proven capability in managing contractors and working in a matrix organization on fast-moving projects.
  7. Solid skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  8. Expected travel for this role within the UK&I and European Regions is around 75% of the time.
