Role Summary:
The Critical Services Shift Supervisor will be instrumental in managing a shift-based team dedicated to delivering high-quality maintenance services. This role is crucial for ensuring the seamless operation of essential systems, maintaining an impressive uptime of 99.995%.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the engineering team during the mobilization phase, including process establishment, recruitment, and training.
  • Participate in project commissioning activities through observation and guidance.
  • Engage in training and familiarization with building systems as part of the Soft Landings initiative.
  • Support fit-out contractor activities post-move, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Utilize digital tools for maintaining systems and assets, demonstrating flexibility in adopting new technologies.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the building's layout and functions through continuous training and scenario drills.
  • Supervise team performance, addressing training needs and conducting appraisals.
  • Coordinate with client representatives regarding repair works and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Prepare and manage permit to work requests, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Conduct quality checks on maintenance tasks and report any equipment failures affecting operations.
  • Lead and mentor Shift Technicians, providing technical guidance and support.
  • Monitor building management systems for operational efficiency and respond to alarms.
  • Participate in emergency response protocols, including on-call duties as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities for both staff and subcontractors.
  • Execute planned preventative maintenance tasks across various systems, ensuring safety and efficiency.
  • Investigate faults and prepare detailed reports on equipment failures.
  • Assist with installation works as needed and undertake additional tasks as directed by management.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
  • City & Guilds Electrical discipline competency or equivalent apprenticeship.
  • Knowledge of 18th Edition BS7671 wiring regulations.
  • Willingness to become an HV Authorised Person.
  • Extensive knowledge of building services, particularly HVAC systems.
  • Experience in critical environments.
  • Strong customer relationship management skills.
  • Familiarity with permit to work systems and technical documentation.
  • Proficient in interpreting technical drawings and processes.
  • Understanding of facilities management and primary M&E services.
  • Practical experience in collaborating with supply partners for integrated service delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels.
  • Proactive approach to work with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Adaptability to changing work patterns as required.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities in managing multi-skilled teams.
  • Experience in HR management and team development.
