Job PurposeThe Environmental Compliance Officer will play a crucial role in assisting the local authority and Kingdom in monitoring and enforcing environmental issues, anti-social behavior, and relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct Environmental Inspections: Conduct regular foot patrols, inspect public areas, and identify contraventions of environmental regulations.
- Issue Fixed Penalty Notices: Use handheld terminals or manual systems to issue Fixed Penalty Notices (FPN) to individuals or businesses in contravention of environmental regulations.
- Maintain Accurate Records: Maintain accurate records of activities and evidence for court proceedings.
- Support Prosecutions: Support prosecutions by attending court when required.
- Stay Knowledgeable: Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation, including the Anti-Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2016 and the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
- Synchronize Evidence: Synchronize FPN and photographic evidence from handheld terminals or digital cameras.
- Undertake Other Responsibilities: Undertake other appropriate responsibilities as needed.
The Environmental Compliance Officer will be expected to express information clearly and concisely to ensure understanding and adapt to change and work effectively in various situations and weather conditions.
Learning and DevelopmentThe successful candidate will participate in our training course to gain insight into daily duties, current legislation, communication, and interaction aspects of the role, earning a recognized qualification in environmental awareness.
