About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our Transformation Unit as a Lung Cancer Service Audit Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team and contribute to the coordination, collation, and inputting of data related to the cancer outcomes and services dataset (COSD) for the lung cancer service.

Main Responsibilities
  • Take the lead in the coordination, collation, and inputting of data in relation to the COSD for the lung cancer service.
  • Monitor, cleanse, and validate data stored within our systems to maximize submission to mandatory datasets, including COSD and national cancer audits.
  • Support local audit processes that inform service development.
Requirements
  • Good all-round education (i.e., 2 GCSEs at equivalent of grade 4/C or above, including English & Maths), or equivalent demonstrable experience in a similar role.
  • NVQ level 4 in administration or equivalent qualification or demonstrable experience.
  • Experience in a role involving analysis, investigation, and resolution of complex statistical/analytical queries.
  • Previous experience in clinical audit, data entry, or quality role.
  • High level of proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Able to clearly and accurately convey information both written and verbally to different audiences.
Desirable Skills
  • Ability to work to defined policy, procedures, practice, and instructions.
  • Aptitude for detail and accurate data entry skills.
  • Able to interpret clinical and non-clinical information to input accurate information into relevant systems and assist with data manipulation for audit purposes.
