Astute People is collaborating with a prominent organization in the Energy from Waste sector to find an Operations Support Specialist.
This position offers a competitive starting salary of up to £46,525 along with bonuses and additional benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilizing a Distributed Control System (DCS) to manage the operation of turbines, boilers, pumps, and water treatment facilities.
- Assuming the role of Shift/Day Team Leader as necessary while executing AP/SAP responsibilities.
- Ensuring operational compliance with stringent Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and internal policies.
- Monitoring Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) and making necessary adjustments to maintain optimal performance.
- Providing technical guidance and support to both company and contract personnel.
- Adhering to the company’s Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality Management Systems.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 4 years of operational experience in power generation, Energy from Waste, biomass, or chemical industries.
- Royal Navy Marine Engineers with substantial watchkeeping experience will also be considered, with a minimum of LET level.
- A willingness to learn and participate in a brief training program to understand the plant operations and associated procedures.
Ideal Candidate Attributes:
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Willingness to engage in overtime as required.
- Up to 10% pension contribution.
