Trainee Post Requirements

This is a trainee post, and as such, Annex 21 applies. For trainees covered by Annex 21, pay will be determined by the length of training. The pay structure is as follows:

  1. Up to 12 months prior to completion of training, pay will be based on the relevant pay scale.
  2. More than one but less than two years prior to completion of training, pay will be based on the relevant pay scale, with a possible increase.
  3. More than two but less than three years prior to completion of training, pay will be based on the relevant pay scale, with a possible increase.
  4. More than three years from completion of training, pay will be based on the relevant pay scale, with a possible increase.

Job Responsibilities

As a trainee advanced nurse practitioner, you will be responsible for utilizing high levels of decision-making and clinical judgment to ensure that patient health needs are met. This will involve:

  • Diagnosing and managing patient conditions through assessment, treatment, and review planning.
  • Providing specialist advice to healthcare professionals, other agencies, carers, clients, and relatives.
  • Leading and developing the service to improve practice and working collaboratively across healthcare boundaries.
  • Implementing and evaluating evidence-based standards, guidelines, and policies.
