We are seeking a highly organized and dynamic Category Manager to join our Sufficiency Service team at Hampshire County Council. As a key member of our agile team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the provider market to meet the needs of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the sufficiency of Independent Non-Maintained Special School (INMSS) places and Alternative Provision places across Hampshire and out of county.
- Support in developing and implementing commissioning strategies to meet current and future needs in line with the commissioning strategy and SEND policy direction.
- Liaise with service providers to shape the provider market and facilitate service developments that meet the needs of children and young people.
- Lead a diverse portfolio of activity to support the delivery of statutory services for children and young people in Hampshire.
- Manage large contracts and multiple suppliers, using commercial experience and acumen to negotiate effective supplier relationships.
We are looking for a candidate with excellent analytical and IT skills, including the ability to manage, manipulate, analyse and present data to inform strategic decision-making. You will also have strong partnership working experience, stakeholder management and influencing skills to maintain constructive relationships across internal stakeholders, external suppliers and partner organisations.
A positive, solutions-focussed approach and a drive for continuous improvement are essential for this role. If you are a clear communicator with a passion for ensuring quality services and a keen interest in services for children and young people with SEND, we would love to hear from you.
