About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated English Curriculum Coordinator to join our team at Wessex Lodge School. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in implementing and delivering a broad and balanced curriculum for our students, with a focus on Reading and Phonics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive English curriculum that meets the needs of all students, including those with special educational needs.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to deliver high-quality lessons and provide support and guidance as needed.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness and developing strategies to address any gaps in learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching and learning strategies that promote student engagement and motivation.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports the social, emotional, and academic needs of all students.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Relevant teaching qualifications and experience, preferably in a special school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the English National Curriculum and the Early Intervention Framework (EIF).
  • Experience of working with students with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive learning environment.
