Milestone Infrastructure is actively seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee initiatives within our Civil Engineering Sector. This role presents an exciting opportunity to take a leading position in major projects, encompassing responsibilities from securing work to operational execution, including commercial and strategic elements, as well as project completion and handover.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engaging with clients and managing relationships effectively.
- Providing leadership and contributing to the bidding process and execution of substantial civil engineering projects (typically valued at £25 million and above), with an emphasis on achieving or surpassing revenue targets.
- Ensuring the continuous delivery of an efficient and optimized operational framework.
- Overseeing and guiding a large project team.
- Facilitating further project development by identifying and pursuing local and broader opportunities.
- Recognizing and advocating for improvement initiatives and innovative solutions.
- Interacting with key stakeholders and community members.
- Strategically managing the supply chain.
- Monitoring performance and driving improvements against essential business objectives in alignment with the Milestone business strategy – including operational, financial, personnel, health and safety, quality, environmental, and client satisfaction metrics.
- Delivering monthly operational and financial reports – including analysis, review, and presentation.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Client-focused with substantial experience in managing client priorities, communications, and expectations.
- Demonstrated success in leading maintenance teams or infrastructure projects for both public and private sector clients.
- Consistent history of achieving or exceeding financial, productivity, growth, and safety targets.
- Experience in securing work and preparing tenders for civil engineering projects.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to resolve issues effectively.
- Proven capability to manage and lead large teams.
Essential Attributes:
- Ability to function as a senior leader on large-scale projects.
- Expertise in building collaborative relationships with senior client representatives and other stakeholders.
- Knowledge and experience in preventing and resolving disputes.
- Capability to develop a team to handle the full spectrum of large project management requirements, including operational, commercial, stakeholder management, planning/programming, and design management.
- Ability to analyze project performance (PRM & CVR), provide constructive feedback on outcomes, and formulate improvement strategies as necessary.
