Job Title: Senior Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Nicholas Associates. As a key member of our manufacturing department, you will be responsible for coordinating and leading a team of engineers to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and distribute work across the team, working closely with the commercial manager
  • Train and develop staff to ensure they have the necessary skills to perform their roles effectively
  • Attend team leader meetings to discuss project progress and identify areas for improvement
  • Project manage new projects in partnership with the commercial and engineering team
  • Lead the manufacturing and planning engineers to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Build relationships with customers and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services
  • Organize and liaise with suppliers to ensure the best possible prices and delivery times
  • Calculate cost estimates for projects and set up new Bill of Materials, sales orders, and production routings

Requirements:

  • Background in precision engineering - machining/fabrication
  • Excellent inter-personal and presentation skills
  • Competence in Office particularly Excel, Word, and Project
  • Good working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
  • Project Management Experience
  • Capable of working un-supervised and using own initiative
  • Good eye for detail with a methodical approach to the task in hand
  • Confident communicator
  • Lean Manufacturing background
