The Synergy Programme stands as the largest of five departmental clusters, encompassing key entities such as the Ministry of Justice, Department for Work and Pensions, Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, and the Home Office, along with their associated bodies.
Hosted by the Department of Work and Pensions, your contributions will significantly influence procurement, human resources, and financial frameworks for the next 15 years, affecting over 50% of Civil Servants—approximately 230,000 individuals across multiple departments and their agencies.
The success of this Programme is vital, as Civil Servants depend on shared services for essential tools in human resources, finance, payroll, and procurement.
This initiative impacts a wide range of functions, from workforce planning and budgeting to expense claims and procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that organizational tasks are executed with efficiency.
- Provide secretariat support, including minute-taking and assistance with programme boards.
- Collaborate with team members to manage and respond to correspondence within set timelines.
- Plan and coordinate board meetings, utilizing appropriate methodologies aligned with team and programme objectives.
- Maintain and update action and decision logs.
- Support various functions, including risk management, governance, and assurance.
- Draft official correspondence.
- Oversee the maintenance of a large-scale SharePoint, ensuring proper access across departments.
- Manage the procurement of supplies and services related to project support within delegated financial authority limits.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, serving as the primary contact for certain external parties.
- Establish systems to facilitate effective planning and scheduling.
- Some travel may be necessary as part of this role.
