Position Overview

NHS South Central and West Commissioning Support Unit is in search of an Infrastructure Solutions Architect to contribute to our dynamic array of digital initiatives. This role will primarily focus on network, cloud, and infrastructure solutions, as well as modern workplace implementations.

In collaboration with our Solutions Architects, you will be responsible for delivering intricate new services for both our internal and external stakeholders. Your expertise will be essential in the Azure and AWS public cloud environments, alongside Modern Workplace projects utilizing Intune within the NHS Shared Tenant. Additional areas of focus will include enterprise-wide improvements in: Identity Management, Security Protocols, BYOD policies, Device Administration, and Big Data initiatives (Trusted Research Environments).

This role presents an engaging opportunity with a broad scope of responsibilities and the potential to spearhead transformative changes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert knowledge in the aforementioned domains.

• Engage with stakeholders, articulating complex technical concepts and issues clearly and accurately, while adapting your communication style to suit the audience.

• Generate high-quality written documentation that outlines architectural designs (High-Level Design, Low-Level Design), strategic roadmaps, critical issues, options, and outcomes.

• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, demonstrating strong reasoning and negotiation skills.

• Contribute to the technical execution of services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery within established budgets.

• Collaborate productively with team members to achieve collective goals.

• Work independently under the guidance of a Senior Subject Matter Expert, translating basic customer requirements into actionable designs.

You will be part of a cohesive team, currently comprising three Senior Solution Architects and eight Programme Delivery professionals.
