Job Title: Pastoral Support Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Pastoral Support Assistant to join our team at MLK Education Search. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the well-being and academic success of our students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualised support to students with pastoral and behavioural needs, including the creation of behaviour plans and risk assessments.
  • Work closely with teachers and teaching assistants to develop and implement effective intervention strategies to manage student behaviour.
  • Liaise with external agencies to write reports and develop Educational, Health and Care Plans and Additional Needs Plans.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to relevant staff on the effectiveness of behaviour strategies.
  • Support students in developing social skills and promoting self-esteem and independence.
  • Establish supportive relationships with students, parents and carers to foster links between home and school.
Requirements:
  • GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • Relevant training in attendance strategies or a commitment to undergo training after probationary period.
  • Strong experience of planning, managing and implementing attendance strategies within a school setting.
  • Experience identifying interventions to raise attendance of pupils.
  • Experience of planning and monitoring progress of individual/small groups.
  • Experience working directly with pupils and parents.
  • Experience analysing data and producing reports and identifying key insights.
