Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Artist to join our team at Frostbite. As a Technical Artist, you will contribute to the development of our terrain tools and workflows, collaborating with engineers, product owners, and game teams to improve our procedural systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with engineers and game teams to design and implement terrain tools and workflows.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and training materials to educate the Frostbite community.
  • Advise on tools, workflows, and best practices with Technical Artists and Designers across EA studios.
Requirements
  • At least 5+ years of experience in game development or film industry, with a focus on open world, terrain world building, and procedural systems.
  • Experience creating terrain procedural solutions and algorithms in a game or film production environment.
  • Experience working with terrain tools in a game engine or external software.
  • Experience with shader authoring through HLSL or node scripting.
  • Shipped 2+ games or similar within relevant industries.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience helping others achieve their best through game development tools.
  • Experience with a diversity of content creation tools within a game engine.
  • Knowledge of Lua, Python, or other scripting languages.
  • Comfortable engaging and building relationships with multiple teams and individuals globally.
  • Experience using Maya, Substance, or other DCCs.
What We Offer

This is a hybrid role based in Guildford, UK. You will be required to work in our Guildford office at least 1 day per week and have eligibility to work in the UK.
