Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager to join our team at Mitchell Maguire, a leading construction field sales recruitment consultancy. As an Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for selling a range of ceramic and porcelain tiles to distributors and retailers across the South East and Anglia regions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Field Sales: Sell ceramic and porcelain tiles to distributors and retailers, focusing on customers with a turnover of €60,000-€250,000 per annum.
- Account Management: Manage a portfolio of circa 30 tile distributors and 30 independent bathroom retailers, ensuring strong relationships and driving sales growth.
- New Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities with tile distributors and retailers, with a focus on large format slabs for kitchen worktops.
- Customer Visits: Conduct regular customer visits, averaging 15 per day, to build relationships and drive sales.
- Travel: Travel to Spain and Italy 3-4 times a year to meet with customers and suppliers.
- Merchandising and Training: Assist with merchandising, training, and developing bathroom retailers to increase sales of ceramic and porcelain tiles.
Requirements:
- Experience: Proven field sales experience in the tile industry, with a strong understanding of the market and customers.
- Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of the tile industry, including ceramic and porcelain tiles, and the key players in the market.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Travel: Willingness to travel extensively, including overnight stays, to meet with customers and suppliers.
- Organisation: Strong organisational and territory management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects.
