About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Art and Creative Media Teacher to join our team at Tradewind Recruitment. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Art and Design to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a secondary school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Art and Design to students with SEND, including those with Autism and Social, Emotional or Mental Health needs (SEMH)
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs of students with SEND
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, management, parents, and outside agencies to provide a supportive learning environment
  • Manage challenging behavior and build strong relationships with students
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS)
  • Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service
  • Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable)
  • Experience teaching students with SEND, particularly those with SEMH needs
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
