We are seeking a highly skilled IT Security Officer (ITSO) to join our team on a contract basis. This role is essential for ensuring the integrity and security of our information systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of comprehensive information assurance documentation to ensure compliance with relevant security standards.
- Maintain adherence to established security protocols and regulations.
- Oversee the Security Operations Centre (SOC), including conducting necessary audits and monitoring activities.
- Provide expert guidance to the IT department regarding information assurance activities related to sensitive networks.
- Contribute to the development and ongoing review of the Information Baseline Control Set.
- Ensure that all systems and infrastructures are secured in accordance with established security frameworks.
- Advise stakeholders on the importance of Information Security to shape project outcomes regarding security architecture and data protection.
- Manage information management activities in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, ensuring thorough documentation.
- Coordinate and report on all security requirements for projects, ensuring timely and professional completion.
- Ensure all necessary actions are taken to achieve security accreditation.
- Verify that all cryptographic standards are upheld.
- Monitor and report on security requirements and issues, escalating unresolved matters as necessary.
- Participate in Security Working Groups to provide updates and insights.
- Assist in the preparation of security deliverables, ensuring they meet quality standards and deadlines.
- Develop and manage Security Risk Registers.
- Support the Incident Response Plan and Business Continuity initiatives.
- Collaborate with local Security Officers to enhance IT security efforts.
Essential Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of ICT systems.
- Experience with event management software, including SIEM tools.
- Familiarity with assurance requirements from an ICT perspective.
- Proficient in using dashboards for information navigation.
- Experience in leading and managing a Security Operations Centre.
- Background in defense or related fields is advantageous.
