The successful candidate will become an integral member of the Audiology team at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust.
As an Assistant Audiology Practitioner, you will play a vital role in delivering a comprehensive Adult Audiology Service.
You will support qualified Audiologists in the daily operations of the department, managing your own caseload within a community environment under supervision in adult services. This includes providing basic rehabilitative care and assisting adult hearing aid users with routine repairs.
You will demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, engaging effectively with other professionals and service users, including patients, parents, caregivers, and family members.
You will actively participate in service development initiatives while upholding professional standards.
You will be responsible for maintaining both written and electronic patient and departmental records using various computer systems and word processing tools.
Key Responsibilities
Operational: Conduct assessments and clinical evaluations for adults and children over the age of 5 with minimal supervision in clinical settings.
Provide routine hearing aid repairs for adults experiencing hearing difficulties, addressing inquiries and routine matters, while referring non-routine inquiries to qualified audiologists.

Job Duties
Clinical Responsibilities
- Assist Consultants, Doctors, Clinical Scientists, and registered qualified Audiologists in delivering specific clinical services daily, ensuring an efficient and effective operation within clinical governance standards.
- Adhere to professional standards and protocols for routine assessments.
- Engage with clients in hospital settings, community environments, patients' homes, and nursing facilities during domiciliary visits, performing routine tasks and referring non-routine cases to qualified Audiologists.

- Proven experience in direct patient care or treatment interventions.
