Position: Junior Cost Estimator (Mechanical and Electrical)

Location: Hampshire

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 DOE

About the Role:
Our client, a prominent Mechanical and Electrical Services Contractor, is on the lookout for a Junior Cost Estimator to assist the Senior Cost Estimator in managing the financial aspects of a high-speed, multi-million-pound project.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Junior Cost Estimator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring comprehensive commercial awareness throughout the project lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include:
  1. Supporting the management of all financial activities during the design phase.
  2. Assisting in the preparation of tender submissions for the AMP (Absolute Maximum Price) construction project.
  3. Engaging with subcontractors and suppliers during the tendering process.
  4. Collaborating with design, pre-construction, and estimating teams to ensure commercial oversight.
  5. Reviewing and negotiating contracts with clients, with guidance from senior management.
  6. Negotiating and finalizing subcontract agreements with specialized subcontractors.
  7. Preparing and submitting monthly interim valuations to clients in accordance with contractual obligations.
  8. Managing, valuing, and agreeing on contract variations.
  9. Valuing, preparing, and submitting compliant payment notices to subcontractors.
  10. Managing and agreeing on variations with subcontractors.
  11. Finalizing accounts both upstream and downstream.
  12. Producing and presenting monthly financial reports for the project.
  13. Reviewing project timelines and ensuring that all necessary contractual notices are issued.
