About the Organization

In collaboration with internal teams, academic institutions, and various partner organizations, the successful candidate will spearhead the formulation and execution of policies pertaining to knowledge exchange.

The term 'knowledge exchange' encompasses the diverse interactions between universities and various sectors, including businesses, public services, charities, and communities, aimed at generating societal and economic advantages. These interactions may involve collaborative research initiatives, consultancy services, training programs, knowledge transfer partnerships, and the establishment of new enterprises.

Role Responsibilities

Core Purpose

The primary objective of this role is to oversee funding distributions and policy development, particularly through the assimilation of both qualitative and quantitative evidence, culminating in comprehensive reports and briefings.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the advancement of knowledge exchange policy and funding, ensuring alignment with policy objectives while minimizing institutional burdens and monitoring requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of evidence for Spending Reviews, incorporating both qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Address inquiries from governmental bodies, providing updates on evolving policy priorities and routine knowledge exchange policy activities.
  • Take responsibility for evaluating evidence and analysis to guide research, evaluation, and monitoring of knowledge exchange policies, including aiding in the procurement and management of external services as needed.
  • Engage in projects as they emerge to address evolving knowledge exchange policy priorities and other institutional objectives.

Generic Responsibilities

  • Foster and maintain effective relationships with universities and external organizations.
  • Utilize accurate qualitative and quantitative data in policy formulation.
  • Manage internal projects, which may involve coordinating with external groups and/or utilizing consultants for specific aspects of the reform program.
  • Represent the organization at external meetings and deliver presentations to various stakeholders.
  • Prepare initial drafts of organizational board papers and related documents.

Candidate Profile

Essential Criteria

  • Experience in a higher education or research-focused environment.
  • Proven track record in policy development within the higher education sector.
  • Demonstrated interest in understanding the higher education landscape in which the organization operates.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team, planning and leading initiatives effectively.
  • Strong writing skills, capable of producing clear and accurate communications tailored to diverse audiences.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build effective working relationships at all organizational levels.
  • Creative and adaptable problem solver.
