Science Teacher Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Science Teacher to join our dynamic team at an exciting and forward-thinking secondary school located in Towcester, Northamptonshire.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver High-Quality Science Education: Plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons in line with the national curriculum, ensuring students receive a comprehensive science education.
  • Assess and Monitor Student Progress: Regularly assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development and improve their understanding of scientific concepts.
  • Create a Positive Learning Environment: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and enthusiasm for science, promoting a love for learning and scientific inquiry.
  • Collaborate with Colleagues: Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and share best practices and resources, enhancing the overall educational experience.
  • Participate in Extracurricular Activities: Participate in extracurricular activities and school events to enhance the overall educational experience and promote a sense of community.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: A degree in Science or a related field and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Subject Knowledge and Passion: Strong subject knowledge and a passion for science education, with the ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, students, and parents.
  • Commitment to Continuous Professional Development: A commitment to continuous professional development, staying up-to-date with the latest teaching methods and technologies.
